Reported to be the world’s biggest jazz festival by the Guinness World Records, Montreal Jazz Festival has succeeded in ringing top-level jazz musicians to Canada for more than 40 years. The festival was first held in the summer of 1980.
This year’s Montreal Jazz Festival will be held from June 24 to July 3. The ten-day-long festival will take place in downtown Montreal. To have easy access to the event, you can choose to stay around St. Laurent Boulevard or De Bleurry Street.
Montreal’s strong French influence creates a strong tie between the festival and the French jazz culture. Many French jass artists are featured along with a diverse lineup from North America’s best jazz musicians.
Due to the pandemic and lockdown situation, the event was canceled last year. 2021 should be a new starting point for jazz festivals like Montreal Jazz Festival to bring back jazz events for people who want to enjoy jazz performances again.
